Microsoft CTO: "Don't Learn AI" (Do This Instead)

Hey ,

I hope you had a great weekend?

To everyone who joined us for the Bold Move book launch and Sisterhood Social, thank you. The energy in that room was unlike anything I’ve experienced in years.

But if you weren’t in the room, I need to bring you up to speed.

Because what happened on that stage wasn’t just a "panel discussion." It was a wake-up call.

I sat down with Sarah Carney (CTO, Microsoft ANZ), Wendy Zveglic (Salesforce Signature Success), and Carina Parisella (Andromeda Robotics) to talk about the future of our careers.

I told them: "Don't sugarcoat it. Tell us the truth."

And they did.

Honestly, some of what they said was uncomfortable to hear. But comfort doesn’t get you promoted. Clarity does.

Here is the reality of the market right now:

1. "Don't just Learn AI"

Sarah dropped a controversial take that silenced the room. Everyone is telling you to take a course on AI. She says that’s the wrong goal. The technology changes too fast.

Instead, she revealed the one human skill set that is suddenly becoming the most expensive asset in the future of work.

2. The "Agent" Economy is here

We aren't just talking about "automation" anymore. We are talking about AI Agents.

As Carina said:

"I'm not looking to hire people anymore... I'm hiring Agents."

If you are doing work that an Agent can do, you are in the danger zone.

3. Safety is an Illusion

Wendy shared her brutal story of being made redundant twice in 24 months, despite being a top executive.

If you think your "hard work" or your "title" will protect you in 2026, you are operating by an old set of rules.

I didn't want these conversations to stay behind closed doors.

So, I have uploaded the most important parts of the panel to YouTube.

This is the conversation you need to hear before planning 2026.

On the night, we also covered:

  • Why women feel like using AI is "cheating" (and why men see it as winning).

  • The "Intern" story: A perfect example of how doing things the "old way" makes you invisible.

  • The rise of "Multiplayer Careers" and how to lease your Digital Twin.

  • What jobs are at risk right now

  • What women need to do to build more confidence

We can’t control the pace of technology. But we can control how we respond.

I also want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who purchased a copy of The Bold Move. Because of your support, the book got to number 1 in hot new releases on Amazon and stayed there all weekend (yes, I checked way too often) haha.

This is more than just a book; it is a movement to ensure that no woman is left behind in this next era of technology. As you are about to hear from today's podcast, we have a lot of work to do, so we can’t play small. We need to act before we feel ready and support each other now more than ever.

If you want to get behind this movement, please share your biggest lessons from the book so far and tag me in the post so I can keep the message and mission building.

Enjoy today's special episode, and please reach out to me on socials. I love hearing from you.

Have the best week,

Georgie 💜
