Week 1 - The Bold Move Challenge: Stop Doing vs Start Doing

Hey

Happy New Year ✨

There’s something about the first week of January that always feels a little deceptive.

On the surface, it’s full of possibility. Fresh pages. New goals. Big intentions.

But underneath that, I often notice something else… pressure.

The quiet feeling that I should already be doing more.

And that’s exactly why I wanted to start 2026 differently.

Welcome to Week 1 of The Bold Move Challenge

This week marks Week One of The Bold Move Challenge, and I want to be really clear about something from the start:

This is not about adding more to your life.

In fact, it’s the opposite.

For years, I approached New Year’s the same way most people do: new goals, new habits, new plans, new expectations. And every time, I wondered why I felt overwhelmed so quickly… or why my motivation started to fade by February.

Here’s the part I missed (for a long time)

I was trying to build a new future on top of old habits, old patterns, and an old identity.

And it never works.

This was me for years…

There was a year when I sat down with my journal, ready to map out everything I wanted to add to my life.

More discipline.

Better relationships.

More focus.

More wealth.

But instead of moving forward, I felt stuck.

So I tried something different.

I asked myself one question:

“What do I need to STOP doing?”

Not what I wanted to become.

Not what I wanted to achieve.

But what no longer belonged in my future.

That one shift changed everything.

Because real change doesn’t start with doing more, it starts with letting go.

Week 1: The Stop Doing & Start Doing List

This is the foundation of the entire challenge.

This week, I want you to do two simple things:

1. Write a STOP doing list

What habits, behaviours, or patterns are no longer serving you?

For me this year, that looks like:

  • Stopping the constant checking of social media and metrics

  • Stopping overthinking and future-casting

  • Stopping defaulting to Netflix as my main way to switch off

No judgement. Just honesty.

2. Write a START doing list

Who is the bold version of you, and what does she do consistently?

For me, that includes:

  • Starting each day with a meditation

  • Reading one book at a time, deeply

  • Journaling again

  • Protecting habits that already work instead of dropping them when life gets busy

This is where identity shifts begin.

Want the full context?

I recorded a podcast episode to walk you through this process in detail, including how I think about identity, habits, and why goals alone are never enough.

If you’ve ever felt motivated at the start of a year only to feel flat a few weeks later, this episode will explain why, and what to do instead.

Your only task this week

No pressure no perfection.

Just answer these two questions:

  • What is one thing you’re going to stop doing in 2026?

  • What is one thing you’re going to start doing?

That’s it.

You can reply to this email, message me on LinkedIn, Instagram, or TikTok, or comment on the episode. I’d genuinely love to hear what comes up for you.

Next week, we’ll talk about what happens when you try to become a new version of yourself, and why resistance always shows up right on time.

But for now, welcome to the challenge.

Here’s to a year built on clarity, not pressure.

Identity, not hustle.

And bold moves that actually last.

With confidence,

Georgie 💜

P.S. If you have a copy of The Bold Move, this week will make even more sense, but you don’t need the book to do the challenge. If you don’t have it yet, it’s available on Amazon, in bookshops, on Kindle, and on audio.
